Grandparents & Other Relative Rights

Grandparents & Other Relatives do not have an automatic right to custody and visitation in Georgia. However, a Court can award Grandparents & Other Relatives custody or visitation rights in certain situations.

Similarly, the parent of a child can lose their right to custody to a Grandparent or Other Relative in certain situations, especially when the child has been living with the Grandparent or Other Relative and not the parent of the child.

To learn more about your rights to custody and visitation with a child as a Parent, Grandparent, or Other Relative, schedule an Initial Consultation with CBJ Family Law Attorney Danielle Mays.
