Sentence Modification

Within one year of being sentenced, a criminal defendant may petition the Court to modify his sentence. These petitions are usually successful when there has been some change of circumstances since the person was initially sentenced to justify a modification.   •  Danielle Mays won Sentence Modification after a hearing. Judge modified client’s RSAT prison sentence to allow him to serve the remainder of his prison sentence at a private sober living facility so that he could address addiction issues while working and attending school.
  •  Danielle Mays won Sentence Modification after a hearing. Client was sentenced to serve time in a work release program. Client was injured in car accident and could not attend necessary medical appointments because of work release rules and regulations. Judge modified client’s sentence to allow him to serve the remainder of the incarceration period on house arrest with an ankle monitor so that he could attend all medical appointments.

The Mother of client’s child was then sentenced to serve time in prison.
